The Expanding Minds Program, Mumbai, India
A Vraksh Technology Project

Ponte and Chau Consulting Inc. has been contracted for a second year to support the development of a new progressive early education program in Mumbai, India. Responsibilities include, overseeing classroom design, curriculum design, program evaluation, and program documentation. Last year, Education Specialist, Libby Meyers and Graduate Intern, Kate Schellie were on the ground in Mumbai to teach in the Expanding Minds classroom. website

Somewhere Between, a documentary film

In the Fall of 2009, Iris Chin Ponte Ph.D. was contacted to serve as the film's Adoption and Development Consultant. Dr. Ponte supported the film in many capacities, from on-screen developmental explanations to interview support with the participants. The film will be released in the Spring of 2011. website

Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute

Iris Chin Ponte Ph.D. and Dr. Anne Broadzinsky have been hired to co-author a resource guide and accompanying children's collection of activities, for developing an Adoption Clubhouse support network for transracial adoptive families. website

Early Education Initiative at Kuwait University

Ponte and Chau Consulting Inc. has been hired as the lead international consultants for an exciting project at Kuwait University. We will support current faculty in drafting a proposal for a new University Early Education Center.

The Massachusetts Audubon Society
Habitat Education Center, Belmont MA

Our Educational Environment Specialists are working to evaluate the efficacy and success of an after school nature program developed by the Massachusetts Audubon Society. The Massachusetts Audubon Society is the largest conservation organization in New England, offering year-round nature-related programs for adults and children, in school and out-of-school settings. Their mission is to protect the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife. This evaluation collaboration will serve to facilitate program definition, program improvement, and internal and external communication. website

Botanic Gardens Children's Center, Cambridge, MA
Consultation on Early Childhood Education, Classroom Practices, Documentation Strategies, and NAEYC Accreditation.

As primary educational and technology consultant for this Harvard-affiliated children's school and center, we provide consulting and strategic planning for the center, continuous teacher training workshops on documentation and reflective practices, as well as technical support to establish the centers' technology infrastructure and to integrate education and support technologies for teachers and in the classrooms.

We have been working with this center for over 7 years and will continue to develop and support this center. In the 2008-2009 year, Ponte and Chau Consulting Inc. were hired to provide primary support to Botanic Gardens Children's Center as it prepared for NAEYC accreditation. In 2010 the center was awarded an extremely high accreditation score. website

Problem Solving and Critical Thinking with Discrete Mathematics at Tufts University
Program Evaluation of an Improving Teacher Quality (ITQ) grant funding teacher training institute. Formative Evaluation, Summative Assessment, State Reporting, and Reflective Program Development.

This is a state funded teacher training program on discrete mathematics for 5-9 teachers in Massachusetts. Ponte & Chau Consulting serves as external evaluators for this program. We provide internal feedback for program improvement as well as report directly to the Department of Education for grant-related and evaluation-related activities. We have been working with this organization for two years now and will continue as their evaluators and consultants. website
