Kenzie Chin
Junior Specialist: Adoption and Development
Kenzie Chin graduated from Middlebury College with a degree in Sociology and Anthropology with a specific focus on Chinese sociolinguistics. She has worked with children adopted from China since 2002, when she began working with the Ponte & Chau Inc. Chinese clubhouse socialization group. In the spring of 2009, Kenzie studied abroad in Beijing and Hangzhou, China, where she studied Chinese language and Chinese youth sociolinguistics. In 2009, Kenzie created the Middlebury Xiao Pengyou mentorship program, which addresses issues specific to adopted Chinese children in the sparse Vermont Asian American community through mentorship with Asian and Asian American college students. In the fall of 2011, Kenzie will begin working as an associate teacher at the Brearley School in New York City.
